I have quite a long commute from work and the only thing that has been saving my sanity lately has been listening to my podcasts. They’re an awesome way for me to disengage from the workday and pass the time in traffic. I have about twelve in rotation on my phone but here’s my top five!
Serial, Season 2
I cannot get enough of this podcast. I’m bummed that they changed the schedule to every other week, but it’s so well produced and fact dense that I can understand why. I even got my Dad hooked on it! I told him about it a week ago and he’s already caught up to me! He has a long commute, too so he’s really enjoying this on his way home as well.
Happier with Gretchen Rubin
This is a great podcast about how our personalities can affect how we formulate habits. I’m a classic Obliger, and Gretchen explains that understanding your personality type can lead to building better habits for a happier life. Gretchen’s sister Elizabeth is also on the show and I love the push-pull of their relationship and hearing how different they are from one another!
This is a little science-based gem of a podcast. They cover all sorts of topics about how the brain engages in social situations from both a biological and psychological standpoint. Love it.
So Money with Farnoosh Torabi
Since Joey and I have revamped our budget, this podcast has been a great, quick resource for topics like 401k investing, buying and selling property and how to build wealth with smart investments. She has a series within the podcast called “Millionaires Next Door” that is just fascinating to listen to!
I have read Sophia’s book, Girlboss and really enjoyed it. Her podcast is also great, featuring interviews with women who have had unconventional but awesome journeys towards making their lives exactly how they want them to be, and getting to be their own bosses in the process.
If you have any podcast recs for me, I would love to hear them! I’m always up for adding more to my playlist!
