I have some pretty hefty projects on the horizon for this year, and they’re all mid-production as of right now. I am definitely putting more effort this year into actually finishing what I’ve already started before I get myself knee-deep into another project. Here’s what’s currently on the docket for me:
- Decorating the Master Bedroom – Joey and I started this about six months ago when we decided to paint our room. It was not a small undertaking and took us FOREVER. The room is back to normal now, but I haven’t put the decor touches into it at all, and I’m looking forward to finding the pieces to add that will make it more personal for us.
- Overhaul the Guest Bedroom – Our guest room was sparse with just a twin bed in it. We have been wanting to paint this room, buy a queen bed and decorate it to make it a more inviting space. So far, we were able to get an awesome deal on a queen mattress, box spring and frame, so now that we have all of those parts, it’s time to pick some paint colors and do it. (Help me please, this is my kryptonite).
- End Tables – I am in the midst of my first DIY project, which is stripping and repainting two end tables that were given to us by Joey’s parents. So far, I have stripped off the old varnish and stain and sanded them down. More on this soon!
- Lights and Hardware – We have two places in the house where we need to add some new light fixtures-the patio and the light over our island. In addition to this, it has been 2 years and we have not decided on which handles/pulls/hardware we want for our kitchen cabinets yet.
The journey of all of these projects has been fun so far and I’m excited to complete them. I love creative projects and these are right up my alley. Hopefully when I get the itch to start something else, I will remind myself to go back to these, first! We’ll see how that goes 😉
