A big thing happened in our household a week ago. We finally, finally bought our first set of living room furniture! In the seven years we’ve been married, we have never bought living room furniture. We were lucky to be able to inherit some of our parents’ furniture and we’ve just made do up until this point. The couch is now broken, (it has been for a while) and it’s a sectional, which isn’t the best for our living room. We finally have new stuff coming!
We bought two sofas, two end tables and a coffee table. This will be much more conducive to moving around in our living room more freely, and I can arrange and rearrange as much as I feel since we don’t have one massive piece of furniture anymore. The only thing is that we don’t have any recliners in the sofa, so there’s no place to put our feet up. The couches have plenty of room to lay down, but if we want to face the TV, we need something to prop our feet up if we feel like it (and I want to avoid feet on the coffeetable).
I’ve been scouring the internet for ideas and a pouf or small ottoman seem like the best choice. I want it to be easy to move around, and something that will hold up pretty well considering we’re going to have our feet on it all the time. Here are a few I’m really liking:
I’ll wait to purchase something until we actually have our furniture in the house. I think we’ll need a few weeks of actually living with it to figure out what would be the best solution for us, and which one would look best with the new fabric. Until then, I’m going to keep watch on these ones!
