Sometimes when you’re decorating your house, the quirkiest things can catch your eye. They don’t even have to go with anything you already have but they’re just so weird that they kind of…work. Having an eclectic mix around the house is what makes it feel like home. You don’t have to have everything match perfectly or stick to one theme. When you bring in a few odd pieces here and there, your personality starts to peek through.
I love this little match holder. It has an apothecary vibe to it, which would look so good in a bathroom if you have more apothecary jars for cotton balls, q-tips and bath salts. It’s a little bit unexpected but would still look like it belonged.
This Dali melting clock is right up my alley. Being an art major, it definitely speaks to my personality. I love how it blends easily with the colors, but it’s unexpected and bold at the same time.
I don’t know why, but I have always been drawn to these weird diving masks as decor pieces. The fact that the face is a clock is even better for me, because it combines two things that I love. I know this piece is just strange, but for some reason I’ve always wanted one of my own! This is definitely a piece that people cannot pass by without noticing!
This little magnifying glass is so cute. The black and white check retro and bold, and this could be a great coffee table or nightstand decor piece. Sometimes pieces don’t have to be huge to make an impact, and in this case, the patterned handle is what gives it the statement.
This multi-faceted sculpture is a great piece that can mesh well with traditional or modern decor. It’s mixed medium with marble and wood, so it could easily be placed in either type of setting and work well. At first glance it looks kind of like a weird lump, but it would look great on a built-in or as a bookend, or even as a accent next to a plant!
What are the unusual pieces you have around your home? I would love to know!
