I have been feeling overwhelmed with the big spaces in our house lately, because it seems like there’s still so much to do, even though we’ve taken on big projects in the house. Ever get that feeling like things are still only at 75% no matter how much you add to a room? That’s where I feel like I’m at. We are wanting to get our foyer painted, but that’s a big project that costs a lot, so that will happen later down the road. I’m itching to do another project around the house though, and I think I found one I could pull off pretty quickly.
We have this one wall on the side of our staircase that has sat vacant for almost 5 years now. I was contemplating how I could spruce this wall up without having to spend a ton of money and hopefully use what we already have around the house. I still love the color we used in the upstairs hallway (it’s Sherwin Williams Gale Force!) and I thought it would be great to incorporate a bit of that color downstairs as well. I searched in my basement, and we still had half a gallon of the paint left! When you walk in the house, you can see the upstairs hallway, and hopefully this little pop of color on this wall will tie in nicely.
See? Big and empty. Hopefully I can get to painting this space sometime this week. It should be a quick project that will tie the two spaces together, and add some personality to a spot that we pass by daily! I have a feeling the painting is going to be easy, but decorating it will be the next hurdle. I have some ideas in mind though!
What are small spaces in your house you’ve transformed? I need inspo! Hope you all have a great week!
