I may have snuck into Joann Fabrics “just to look” at what kind of Halloween decor they had.
I also may have ended up buying some things. Mhmmm.
Would you be able to pass up a 60% off sale?! If you would you have way more will power than I do…craft stores may be my ultimate kryptonite.
I didn’t have a lot of money to spend but I wanted a few pieces that would spruce up my fireplace mantel and move it into the Halloween season. There were these two little framed pieces, one with a raven and one with a bat inside the shadow box, that I knew could work on the mantle really easily. They matched the color tones I already had, and they had that little bit of pop with the glitter to bring in a different element to capture the eye.
(Of course, my hand carved pumpkins make their way into every decor setup now because I’m obsessed.)
Skeletons are another one of my favorite pieces of decor during Halloween, and I found these two that I knew would work out perfectly by the ties at the end of the burlap. I tied them on and they’re the perfect little end caps to my mantle!
I added my “Beware” sign (that I got from Home Goods a few years ago) onto the mantle as well. It’s just big enough to fit right into the space next to my wood letters, and works perfectly with the raven picture box I just bought.
Let’s talk about these little jack-o-lantern bells for a second, ok?! So first of all, I didn’t know they were individual bells, I thought they were all strung together. I had to ad-lib a little bit of DIY to make this work with the original idea I had in mind. I wanted to string them across the mantle in front, so I dug out my raffia ribbon and looped and tied them all about the same width apart, and then tied them onto the ends of the burlap. A little extra effort but I love how it turned out!
So I thought I had enough stuff and then I saw this.pillow. Isn’t it the cutest?! It’s the perfect size for our couch, and it’s not too big or bulky. I love the lettering on it! With all of the stuff I got for the mantle, I needed something Halloween themed for the other side of the room!
The thing about decorating my house is that I never feel ‘done’. I am constantly rearranging and changing things just to see what would look good in different spaces. What are you doing in your houses?! Show me all your Halloween decor, it’s my favorite!
Happy Friday, everyone!
