So I am one of those people who buys things little by little for their house. I never usually buy a bunch of stuff at once. I’m always picking up pieces little by little and waiting for just the right item to catch my eye to add into the mix. This is what happened with our master bedroom. We painted our walls about 2 years ago and then I bought a couple of decor pieces and our comforter set but then stalled out after that. I knew the windows had to be taken care of because I didn’t want to only see blinds.
Enter my procrastination! It took me about 6 months to find rods that I liked and another six to find curtains. I brought a couple of pairs home and returned them when I realized it wouldn’t work out with our space. I finally settled on these crackle-finish finial rods and a cool white voile curtain.
Here’s what the windows looked like before. Joey and I got to work putting them up! (And when I say Joey and I, I really mean him but I laid out all the supplies and handed him stuff!)
And here is the end result! I am very happy with how it all turned out! At first I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do only one curtain on each rod, because I was afraid that it would be too overwhelming with 4 curtains in the room. In the end though, two looked much better on each side so that’s what we stuck with. It feels so nice to have such a major part of the room complete. The curtains are light and airy, which is exactly what I wanted. They enhance the room but don’t draw too much attention. They soften the light that comes in and makes the room feel serene and calm, and when I have the windows open, they are so beautiful and flowy!
Now the last and final part to getting this room complete is adding the last few decor pieces. I have ideas in mind, so there should be some good scouting ahead!
Happy Monday! I’m going to Chicago this weekend for a bachelorette party and I cannot WAIT. Let’s hope this week goes faster than last week!
