It has been quite a while since I wrote a post about the guest bedroom! Let’s catch up on the progress, shall we? Here is what the room looked like before we painted, when it was prepped and ready for some color to be added…
The color on the walls is called Cocoa Whip by Sherwin Williams. I had posted back in August about accessories I was hoping to get for the room to start pulling it all together. Remember this post? I was able to find a couple of things, but there is still a lot on my list! On one of my many trips to Home Goods, I found this beautiful blue and white paisley print comforter that I knew would be just beautiful in the room. I didn’t want to go with a neutral-toned bed, because the deeper wall tone and the neutral headboard needed some color to liven up the room. Curtains were a success, too! These sheer pom pom trimmed curtains are just what I wanted for the room-they let light in and add a touch of texture.
I also found the most perfect pillows for the bed. The fluffy white one was also from Home Goods, and the silver beaded pillow (you know I have to have some sparkle!) was from Pier 1. The other two white pillows and the square paisley pillow came with the comforter set. They make the bed plush and inviting, even though I’m always on the hunt for more pillows to swap in and out!
Hello mini-chandelier! I love this fixture. It’s the perfect size and it makes the room so cozy and lovely to be in. You better believe I put that on a dimmer switch, too! It looks so pretty in the room at night with the soft glow.
This wall hanging has always been one of my favorite pieces. It’s a damask mosaic from Pier 1. I love it in this room, and on this wall. It still reflects light from the windows around the room, and you can see it coming up the staircase as well. It’s the perfect size for that wall, and I love how the curtains and this piece play off of one another. The dresser that I refinished is still in this room, along with my fuzzy stool and another pillow from Pier 1!
So what do I still need? Lamps. Lamps for the end tables have been on my list for the longest time! I’ve got to be honest, I have been looking and looking and I have not found anything that I feel would work well in the room yet. Has anyone else had this much trouble finding lamps for end tables?!
I’m also still in need of some decor on a couple of walls. I’m hoping to find some artwork for above the dresser, above the bed, and for the wall on the left side of the bed by the closet. I may have to take matters into my own hands and paint something myself! Right now there’s a lonely Scentsy warmer on the dresser, and I need to add some cute decor pieces there as well!
I am really hoping to get the last few bits and pieces rounded up so that I can finally call this room complete! What rooms do you have waiting for those last few pieces to finish it off?
